Warming Up — Check in on your fitness level
Is your idea of sports to strap on your skis and plow over moguls, or is it closer to rooting for the Canucks from the comfort of your sofa? We all have different athletic abilities. Some of us are natural athletes and, let's face it, some of us are natural couch potatoes. We might not all agree on how much exercise is enough, but one thing none of us can deny is that physical activity is good for our physical and mental well-being.
Take an honest look at your own level of physical activity, and ask yourself some questions. What kinds of activities did you take part in over the last week? Did you do any team sports or athletics training? Maybe you went to a dance class that got your heart rate up. Even a brisk walk to and from school can be considered exercise. Make a list of all the things you did that got your body up and moving, and congratulate yourself! You've completed the first step in creating your own personal fitness plan.
