Project 8 — Investigate the food industry (Grades 4-6, 7-9)

The food industry has had quite a bit of say about the type of information we're given concerning nutrition. A group of Texas cattle producers even tried, unsuccessfully, to sue Oprah Winfrey in 1996, after she aired a show about mad cow disease. Think about the print and television ads that you have seen promoting dairy, beef, pork, or fish, and find out about the lobby groups behind the agricultural food industry. Armed with your research, stage a debate on the following topic:
The agricultural food industry has too much power in our society.
