World-class amateur and professional athletes aren't the only ones who dabble in the use of performance enhancers. Anabolic steroids are one type of performance-enhancing substance being used by high school athletes, despite the damage they can do to the body. There has even been a marked increase in the use of these steroids by teenage girls in recent years. Why do you think young athletes feel pressured to take these substances? How will these substances affect their bodies? Do you think it is worth it for these athletes to take them? Do you think these substances are being used in your school? Present your findings in the form of a newspaper commentary, or a 60-second radio or television investigation report.
