Project 4a — The scoop on legal drugs (Grades 4-6, 7-9)


	When you think of the word "drug," do you automatically think of illegal substances? Think again. Alcohol, nicotine and caffeine are all addictive drugs, and yet they are completely legal in our society. Choose one of these legal drugs and note on a chart how it affects the human body, what its withdrawal symptoms are, and what substances contain it. Be sure to include short and long-term effects, and why withdrawal symptoms occur. Did you find out anything surprising?
